    As part of my coursework I am finding that I need to improve my fluency in abstract mathematics. For the first year of my Graduate life I hit my head on many walls, tables and other flat surfaces trying to get to grips with (what I find to be) an abstract yet incredibly powerful subject. I am by no means fluent on this subject, nor an authority far from it; at the time of writing I have only just planned out my own study guide. I present my notes here to help myself piece together this subject, and I hope that they can be of some value to others.

    Feeling festive and with a new toy to play with, I have been occupying my time with a very bright, colourful and wonderfully entertaining 32 LED strip. After playing with the demos and adding simple tilt controls, I decided to makes something useful- a variable-intensity, multicoloured clock.
